STG2 aboard 1972 – 1973. Left the ship in Mombasa Kenya for discharge.

Served on the Jonas Ingram 77-79. Loved destroyer life after 2 years on CVA 42. DD938 had a wonderful crew and serving aboard was an honor.

Donald Posman, USN, sailed out of Mayport, Florida, on the Jonas Ingram during the early to mid 1970s. He has passed away in West Virginia at the age of 69 after a short illness. He attended a reunion of DD938 Sailors in Warwick, Rhode Island, a few years ago, and was proud to reunite with his mates. May he rest in peace.

David Posman

B division would like to hear if there is a reunion of all the old crew of 65 to 67

Years Served: 1960-1963…I served on the Rockin’ J. I. as a Sonarman E-3 to SOG-2 while aboard her. Still looking’ for Sorenson, Hart, Dinofrio, and many others. Made SOLANT AMITY 2 and Med Cruise plus Nth. Atlantic Cruise. Looking’ for Ernie Carrol too. On the Jonas Ingram from 1960 to ’63

Years Served: 1973-1976…I was a radioman in the air-conditioned radio shack during my two and a half years on the Jolly JI. While there, I learned how to shine a passageway, polish a scuttlebutt, and clean the head after a day of heavy seas. My Navy skills have made my wife a happy woman!
