Years Served: 69 to 72…Served in V1 Div. (flight deck) 69 to 72. Great ship, great crew. I remember my last few minutes aboard. I was sitting in a COD ready to be launched off the cat, looking out a port hole at the flight deck activity and thinking The rest of my life is going to be dull because nothing can top this. Anyone who remembers the Flight Deck Bosun, feel free to contact me.

Years Served: 1972 (VF-24)…I served on the Hancock in 1972 as a member of Fighter Squadron 24. I was a redshirt—AO2 to be exact. It’s been years since I heard from anyone that was on that cruise to the Tonkin Gulf. That was quite an experience! I’m six months away from retirement now (I’m a Master Sergeant in the Army). Looking forward to sitting on the front porch with the grandkids in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
