My father, Frank Robert Wood (sometimes called Bob) was on the Fieberling during the Battle of Okinawa. If anyone knew him or has pictures of him, I’d love to hear from you. He left the Navy, joined the Air Force and was assigned to Okinawa 1967-69. The family went with him and we visited several war memorials at that time. It was a very different place then.
