My grandfather was Lt. Cmdr Louis F. Loutrel, jr. USNR. He was the captain of the USS Williams (DE-372) from commissioning until at least December 1945. His separation date was in mid February of 1946. All of his children are still alive as of today, 1 April 2020. If anyone wants more information, I might be able to connect you with them.
