My father served abord the Francis M. Robinson during WWII. He passed away on Sept. 13, 2001, two days after the World Trade Center attack. I have visited the USS Slater in Albany, and now have some idea as to how closely knit the crew had to be to live together is such a small space on the “Rockin’ Robbie”.
