Ron Atkins the XO held a fishing derby in the straits of Juan de Fuca and he won the prize. “Tastee Bill Hastee, the Ops Boss and I had the deck on the mid-watch the night the ship rolled and tossed over Captain Roberts jelly bean machine in the wardroom. Hell to pay next morning at breakfast.

Years Served: WWll…I’m looking for other WWll Evans vets that served with my dad.

Served aboard the Uss Evans from 1966 thru 1968 as a radio operator. My 1st class was William Porter who lives in Calif. I reside in Peoria AZ.

Would be great to find shipmates. I was aboard from 1962-1965.
