RM3, on Hammerberg from Aug 1970 through decommissioning. Later went on to two master’s degrees and began but did not complete a PhD program at the University of Virginia. Retired since May 2015. Last job: teaching English to Saudi army helicopter pilots in Qassim Province (about 300 mi. south of Anbar Province.) We liked to call it between Iraq and a hard place.
