I think of my time on the Blandy. Especially the 7 months or so we were stationed just off the DMZ on shore bombardment and numerous danger close missions off North Vietnam. We had a terrific crew and during those months off the coast of Vietnam we worked our tails off. Would love to hear from my fellow shipmates. Text me at anewell61@verizon.net

Years Served: 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972…I am proud to be a member of the USS Blandy DD-943 re-commissioning crew, which took place on May 2, 1970 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The experiences I had as a boilerman on the Blandy and enduring friendships can never be replaced. The photos on the Blandy web-site of action around GITMO in the 1970’s were taken by me. I hope everyone enjoys them. I am looking forward to the next reunion. Sincerely, Robert Leo aka Butch Cassity rcassity22@comcast.net
