Active duty on her final crew. Mar 79 till decommissioning in 1981. BTFA to BT3 aft fire room. I know she was named after the 3 Rogers brothers killed in ww2. I just learned that I am a direct descendant of an original Mayflower passenger named Lt. Joseph Rogers. I’m wondering if there is a familial bond between him and the Rogers boys. Any help would be much appreciated. I ended up making the Navy a career and consider DD-876 the best duty I had
Great duty! I am very proud and happy to have served aboard the USS Rogers(DD-876)
Aboard the Rogers and Portland Oregon was the best duty I’ve ever had
I am interested in a reunion for the ship.
Wow, what a time ! 3 trips to the gun line !
Searching for old friends and shipmates for renewal
