shipmates I severed on the Hanson with Adm Turner
was a division officer. That was in the early fifties then
In I believe 1962 as a full Capt took command
of the USS Horne named after my step-father
Frederic Horne
In one of my conversations with Adm Turner,
he told me that his time on the Hanson was the
most memorable in his Naval career
He like President George Bush set the mark
for us all – may they now Rest in Peace
