My Dad was on this ship during the Korean War and I was born 0831 after his discharge date in 1956. It struck me that his ship number and my birthday were the same.
My dad,Edward McGee was a Gunners Mate stationed on the Goodrich in 1956 or 1957. His favorite ship before he was killed on his way to Great Lakes in an auto accident. I too love this ship because of him. Looking all the time for memorabilia from this ship
