Years on the USS Henderson 1964-1964. RM3 I went to 3 or 4 ship regions. (Tenn. , Reno and Missouri). Sent all of my old Radiomen buddies a Henderson hat. Also Sent Gary Troxel a hat.

First ship out of bootcamp. Sept. 66 to June 67. Made the Westpac and transferred upon returning to go through SEAR and combat training at Coronado and Camp Pendleton, then off to 13 months in Vietnam. I remember BM2 Colemire. I ran into him later on in my Navy career on the Uss Nashville. He was an NCC. I retired in 1990 as CTO1.

My father Otto Hansen served on the Henderson in the early nine toon hundreds he served in China during the boxer rebellion I have his ships log is it worth anything not monetarily but to history. Thank you for your time

Served on the Hendy-Maru from 1974-1977. Could not have had better shipmates. I remember Wesley Maugens, Leo Walker,and Rick Burgess.

I served aboard the USS Henderson from 1973-1977 as an ETR. I worked with Tom Sharpenburg and many others. Had a very good friend and golfing buddy Rob McManus. We played lots of basketball. Contact me if you all remember. I had a great time with all aboard the Hendy Miru.

Served on the USS Henderson 6 June 1952 went to San Francisco
for refitting which in part a new mast and mostly upgrade of electronic equipment. Then went on hunter killer operations around Long Beach. Then headed for Korea. Got to Kobi, Japan.
we took on supplies and headed to Korea. We spent spent most
time up at Wonsan Harbor area near the 38 parallel. We were spotting for the BB New Jersey. Came back to Japan.
Got down to the Phiippines and Hong Kong on next cruise.
Flew home from Japan to Midway, Hawaii, Calif an then was was released from (early out) from Treasure Island.
I went to college in Sacramento,Ca then joined the Calif. Hwy Patrol and spent 36 1/2 Yrs. with them. Went also joined the USCGR and worked my way up from PS3 to CWO4 in Port Security. I retired from CHP and USCGR in Dec 1993. I joined Citizens Patrol spent 12 Yrs with them. I got back on the Hendy 1 time before she went to the middle East. Time goes fast when having fun.
