Years Served: 1966 – 1968…I served on the Lloyd Thomas from JUN 66 to JUN 68. My dad was on the USS Wiltise and I always wanted to be a Tin can sailor. She was a beautiful can with great lines and I still have fond memories of her. I wanted to be a corpsman but the striker job was filled so I took up other duties. Went to Corps School after the LT and stayed in until retirement on 01 JAN 92. Made HMC, got a degree, became a Medical Service Corps officer and retired as LCDR after Desert Storm … also served lots of time with the Fleet Marines. Now live in the Mountains of NC. Give me a call 336 385 6085 fair Winds and following seas …. Jim

Years Served: 1969 – 1971…I am writing on behalf of my late father, Ernest Foster YN1, who served on the LT in Hawaii from 1969-1971. Although I was a child, I remember going to Pearl Harbor when the shipped departed for its months-long stints, as well as the happy reunions when the shipped returned from a cruise. I have fond memories of life living on the base. My regards to all who proudly served on the LT.
