I was a midshipman aboard USS Gainard in the Med summer of 1962. I wrote to the host of the 2018 reunion with my recollections but never got a response. I remember Mr. Bullock, Mr. Berkelite (Enginner Officer) and Pride and the XO and CO and Ops Officer, Mr. Trost I think, and wonder what became of them. I have some halfway decent photos of our hurricane on the way back to Newport.
My dad, George Stauss served on the Gainard 1953-57. Communications officer. Wondering if anyone remembers him. Also looking for any crew photos.
