Served aboard the English for 4 Years. 1966 to 1970. I was a Torpedoman 3rd class. Would have been 2nd class if I had shipped over. The English was a Reserve Trainer at that time. She was decommissioned later in 1970. We had only a half compliment crew, the reserves made up the rest. When they were on their 2-week cruise. I not only worked on the torpedos, but I was also in the 5" gun mount, depth charge track, and after staring. IT WAS FUN!!!!

My dad talked of his days in the navy and the ship number – his name was Bob Brinker- formal name Harold Robertson Brinker. Did anyone know my dad? He said he helped supply the ship-went to university of Detroit- could have been an officer. Any information would be helpful to our family – God Bless!
