Years Served: 1944 1945…Thanks for all the good work Norm.
Years Served: 4…My father when on the Norman Scott was in the boiler room, he continued to work on boilers and the last position he held he was employed at the Army Corps of Engineers at Sam Rayburn Dam in Jasper Texas. He always told me of the many men that gave their lives on the ship and the fondness of all the crew while on board. I wish I would have known about this web-site before he passed, he would have loved it. Thank you to everyone who sailed with my father, I know that each shipmate that he met was a great person because he was a better person have known all of you.
My dad, George Anthony Bartunek BM (1914-1982) Ellsworth, Kansas was on the Norman Scott 1944-1945 and survived the battle of Sipan.
