Years Served: 1952-53…Love to see some of you guys. Do you ever have a reunion? I live in Sausalito, CA from 9/15 to 6/15, and then in Truro MA on Cape Cod for the summer. :)

Years Served: 2…My step dad Alton M. Bishop , his nick name was Al to friends and AM to family members down home in Kennet Missouri from where he was born and grew up working in the cotton fields at the age of 9 served on the Hancock . He was a pom pom gunner on the Hancock , he served a total of 9 years in the Navy before coming back home to Missouri where he lived out the rest of his life . He passed away on October 27th 1995 at the age of 69 , I would just like to say that pop loved his country and served it well and will always be my hero and i love and miss him very much ! In closing i would like to thank all you veterans for what you did may GOD bless you all .

Years Served: 1943-1946…I’m an original plank owner. I Enlisted in the navy (in New Jersey) in 1943 and after boot camp in Rhode Island was assigned to the Lewis Hancock DD675, a new ship. We fought in the Pacific until just before the war ended. We were actually in port in California, (the first time we had been back to the States), on the day of the Japanese Surrender.

Years Served: 31 yrs in A.F. Reserve…Looking for info on my Dad who served on the Lewis Hancock DD 675 during the 50’s. Richard Coblin Harp was a Yeoman.
