On board from 1/1966 till 9/1969. When we took a 51 degree roll, at sea. Off the coast of Viet Nam and was shoot at. The enemy had anchored logs in the ocean to tell distance from shore. At night we went to a surface contact, it was 200 San-pans taking supplies to the South to resupply the Viet Cong. Didn’t see a soul on them. Went to Yokusuka, Japan via Subic Bay, where we put on a Christmas Party for orphans and I had to get decorations for the party. Quite a trick not knowing the langue. Tossed off the bridge by the Captain for repeating exactly what he said by his orders. The pilot house cheered.(I was on the head set for sea and anchor detail)
