Years Served: May 1943-May 1949…My name is Dianne Kelly signing for my father who passed away July 25, 1998. If anyone has pictures or information I would be very interested in seeing them. Better yet would be if anyone remembers my father whom they called Kelly, some may have called him Johnny.

My father was Daryl E. Allport, Fc2, who served on the USS Dyson from 1942-1945 when he was transferred to the USS Bristol. He died on April 11, 2006 and he really wanted to see his old shipmates. He had a shoebox full of photos, including Jap ships that were sinking. I still have photos of him though some at least are from the Bristol. I also have photos of him posing with shipmates (mostly unnamed).
