My mother’s 1st husband-killed at sea in accident-have many of his pers effects-would love to pass these to relatives

Your dad and the men on the Carmick could have saved that operation. I would like to know more about him, that is, can Iive up to his example?

My dad was commander of USS Carmick on the morning of D-Day, off Omaha beach. Since dad’s passing, I’ve met two wonderful gentlemen regarding her, one of them who served on her and another who’s father served on her. The USS Carmick DMS 33. Was a destroyer mine sweeper. I served aboard her during the Korean War. It was a DD during WWll. It is one on a few ships that had it’s designation changed
