Years Served: April 1961 – June 1964…:D I remember being on the Kitty Hawk in the Gulf of Tonkin in 64, not getting mail and no communications with the outside world, and then a mail plane arrived and then fell off the flight deck before the plane could be tied down by the air crew. Those days got a lot longer after losing the mail. I was in M-Div, MM2/C assigned to engine room #2.

Charles Robson

Years Served: 1974 – 1976…Marine Detachment 1974 – 1976. The USS Kitty Hawk were the best days one can imagine, and I wish I could turn the clocks back and do it all over again.

Years Served: 1960-1964…I was in A-1 div. I spent most of my time between the deck edge elevator machinery rooms and the after-steering machinery rooms. We had a lot of good times and bad times but i remember most the time we had a visit from the Big Bear bomber from Russia while on cruise between Japan and the coast of Russia. It would be nice to hear from any of the old gang who were there at the time.
