Years Served: 69-70…Served aboard the Fighting I as COD aircraft AE2 aircrew with John Mulvahill and George Hafner. LCDR Hazard was our AIMD Division Officer. We Changed homeport to Quonset Pt. and had a slight run in with the mud. She was a good old girl and I can’t wait until she is back in the Big Apple. Sierra Hotel to all of her shipmates.
Years Served: 1964-1967…Served on board, 64 thru 67, shakedowns, med cruise, far east and Brooklyn shipyards for refitting,lot and lots of fond memories and great shipmates, flew off her on second Viet Nam cruise, for separation, discharged in 69, Became a ShellBack on board her and traversed the Isthmus Of Suez,Will visit her after her newest Refit, at Bayonne, lived in Jersey all my life never got to NY to see her, shall do it from Florida this time, any shipmates give me a shout, have talked to a few over the years!! and would like to hear from others.

Or, Gardinsky, the Boatswain’s Mate from Philly who bought a new green GTX and showed us the city? Did Ltjg Zirpoli get the job at the Planetarium that he wanted? where’s Knowles and Chiefs Woody and Tong? Steve Poole: Do you remember the trip we took to Morocco, or the time we hitchhiked back to Rhode Island and almost froze and ended up at a party in Providence. Kitzmiller: Do you remember fishing for pickerals? How about the time at Guantanamo when there was a big fight at the pier. Lofton was there. Gotzman, Kupniewski and Appling and Hamilton—thanks for visiting me in the brig. Remember Stanton, the Master at Arms. How about Galloway, the surfer from Malibu?
