I served on the Mighty Dale 1986 – 1989. We had the best times being in dry dock in Phila where my family is from. I’m trying to locate my fellow shipmate, Kevin Carter, from Flint, Michigan. Thanks

Hello all and I want to start by telling you THANK YOU for your service. I am just trying to find people, pictures or information on my father. He served in the US Navy and was on USS Dale during the Vietnam War. He was enlisted 1962-1966. He passed away a couple years ago from cancer and there are so many questions I would have asked him. His name was Phillip Peterson but may have went by Pete. Thanks for time.

I reported aboard on 15 October 1974 and debarked on 7 February 1978, I can’t begin to tell of the many memories i have of the my time on-board as there are many. There was only one USS DALE and though she may be in Davy Jones locker, she lives on in this crewman’s heart forever.

I don’t think this applies to me. I was on the plank crew of the USS Dale, DLG-19. I served on it from when it went into commission in 1963 until our return from Vietnam in 1965. I was a Radarman and worked in the Combat Information Center. We were the first naval vessel equipped with both passive and active Electronic Counter Measures equipment.
