Years Served: 1977-1979…It has been 30 years since I have seen her decks.
Years Served: 3 Years 10 months…Served on HEY…70-72 Radar (CIC)
Served on board proudly from Jan 1979 till June 1981
Served 1971 to 1975 as an FTM. Many memories. Started home port in Newport, then the yards in Philly then Virginia. Two Med cruises and many trips to the Caribbean.
I served on the USS H. E. Yarnell DLG 17 1963 – 1964 as an SM2. I attended Pre-Comm school in Newport RI in 1962 and commissioned her as a Plank Owner in February 1963. I managed one of her first reunions in 2002 in Annapolis, MD and we proud to do so.
